The two major components to our system of local government are the Members of Council and the Administrative Arm.
The City Council is the legislative body, establishing City policies, while the Administration is designated to carry out the directives of the Council. Our City’s Council consists of a Mayor nominated with 3 other aldermen and 9 Council Members elected by district. The Mayor and Council Members serve 3 year terms.
