There is no question that Councillor Teresa Lynch has worked tirelessly within our communities. Even before taking the oath to serve as Councillor for Cocoyea/Tarouba, Councillor Lynch has worked for close to a decade to ensure that citizens of Trinidad and Tobago possess the skills and competencies required for keeping pace with socioeconomic changes. Teresa has envisioned, developed and implemented solutions to various problems, giving rise to unrestricted social functioning for even the most vulnerable members of our society.

Her success in these areas are undergirded by her rigorous academic training received at the University of the West Indies where she pursued consecutive courses of study in Sociology and Psychology at the undergraduate level followed by post-graduate studies in the Management of HIV infection. Not only have these academic disciplines endowed Teresa with a keen eye for social concerns but they have also bolstered her ability to engage with all members of the public.

Her extensive experience as a Social Worker has instilled an unwavering dedication to assessing the needs and issues affecting and impeding the people of the Cocoyea/Tarouba Electoral District. Teresa is a true advocate for inclusive approaches to growth and development and often considers the multi-dimensionality of societal needs when proposing solutions.

She is driven by a self-defined charge to break barriers through the promotion of healthy lifestyles. As a result, Teresa has made it a point of emphasis to value physical and mental health as equally poignant in forging a satisfactory and satisfying quality of life. Teresa, herself, is no stranger to the fitness world as she takes part in a number of exercise challenges, year after year. Such an active lifestyle has provided Teresa with a sense of belonging and a positive sense of self. It is yet another informal means through which she is able to connect with people of the community.
